The European and North American divisions of ESEA MDL Season 29 will kick off with 24 and 20 teams, respectively.

The 29th season will have Global Challenge LAN finals and promotion to ESL Pro League as rewards after the previous season, which had neither, was won by 3DMAX in Europe and Bravado in North America.

The European division will have 24 teams with all sides playing 16 best-of-ones in the regular season. The top eight squads will move on to the best-of-three playoffs. The top three teams will earn a spot at the ESEA MDL S29 Global Challenge.

Additionally, the top two sides will play a match on LAN for a spot in ESL Pro League Season 9 Europe. The loser of that match and the third placed team from the playoffs of ESEA MDL Season 29 will take on the 12th and 13th placed teams from ESL Pro League Season 8 for the final two spots in Season 9.

1-2. ESEA MDL S29 GC + EPL Season 9 qualifier match
3. ESEA MDL S29 GC + EPL S8 Relegation

21-24. ESEA S30 Advanced

The North American division will have the same structure and format as the European one. The only difference is the team count as NA will only have 20 compared to EU's 24.
